With the official start to Fall just a couple of weeks away, I thought I’d share one of our family’s favorite appetizers! Although this can be made year round, which we most definitely do, it’s also become a Fall staple on many occasions such as football games, Halloween parties, one of many Thanksgiving appetizers and they’re so good that we always make these a part of our New Years celebration each year! Our family has enjoyed this appetizer for the last 20+ years and we think you will too!
Chicken Won Ton’s
Ingredients
4 boneless chicken breasts
2 cups shredded Mexican style cheese
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup sour cream
1 package dry ranch dressing
2 12oz. packages won ton wraps
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Trim fat from chicken breasts and carefully place them in a large pot of boiling water for at least 20 minutes and cook until done, depending on how thick your chicken breasts are. Use a thermometer when cooking chicken. You want it to reach an internal temperature of at least 165 degrees, testing the thickest part of the chicken.
Dice cooked chicken and add all remaining ingredients in a large mixing bowl and stir well.
Place a heaping teaspoon of the mixture in the center of the won ton wrap and pull all sides up together and place each one in a mini muffin tin.
Bake 15~20 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Makes approx 48 won tons which is about 8 per person.
Tip:
Serve warm. For a smaller crowd you can cut the recipe in half. Leftovers can be refrigerated and re-heated in the microwave. Enjoy!!
As we’re in the final stretch of summer let’s be sure to continue making precious memories with our families as we anticipate the beginning of the Fall season and all the fun that comes along with it.
As always, let’s cherish this grand season of life!!
